Code of Conduct

Create Upstate is a space for designers and agencies to connect, learn, and win the work. We want everyone, speakers, attendees, sponsors, and volunteers, to have a safe and welcoming experience.

Expected behavior

• Treat everyone with respect, regardless of experience level, background, or role.
• Give and receive feedback constructively.
• Respect personal space and physical boundaries.
• Follow the instructions of organizers and venue staff.

Unacceptable behavior

• Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
• Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or age.
• Unwelcome sexual attention or physical contact.
• Disruption of talks, sessions, or other events.
• Photographing or recording attendees without consent.

Reporting

If you are harassed or made to feel uncomfortable for any reason, notice someone else being harassed, or have any other concerns, please locate a member of the conference staff, identifiable by their t-shirts and staff badges. You can also reach out to info@createupstate.com or call 860-933-0806.

All reports will be handled promptly and with discretion.

Consequence

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Violating this code of conduct may result in removal from the event without a refund.

Scope

This code of conduct applies to all Create Upstate spaces, including talks, the Portfolio Wall, happy hour, and any official event communications, both in person and online.

Privacy Policy

We may photograph or videotape speakers and attendees for use in online or printed materials. Your attendance grants us the right to use your likeness in these materials.

Cancellations

You may transfer your registration to another person by notifying us no later than two days before the event. Include your name, email address, and the name and email address of the person attending in your place. We'll send a confirmation email to the new registrant.

No refunds will be given for cancellations.
